The Bergwelten documentary “A summer above the clouds” takes viewers on a journey to four unique South Tyrolean high Alpine mountain huts. Included are the Schwarzensteinhütte, the Weißkugelhütte, the Zwickauer Hütte and our Becherhaus! 😎
The four mountain huts have a lot in common - as man-made outposts, they stand in an inhospitable space of ice and rock, as witnesses to the ingenuity and willpower of civilization. South Tyrol has a total of around 700 peaks over 3,000 meters. Only half of them have a name and only one of them has a shelter on its roof. At an altitude of almost 3,200 meters, the Becherhaus is South Tyrol’s highest and most impressive refuge🤍🏔️

👉🏻When the first rays of sunshine hit the Becherhaus mountain hut early in the morning, two young athletes - Lukas Mangger and Armin Larch - are already on their way to the peak. It is 1,853 meters in altitude from the starting point - A day’s hike for normal visitors, but Lukas and Armin cover the route in just one hour and 50 minutes. They have discovered the difficult ascent as a training ground, where they prepare for international competitions 💪🏻🏃🏻♂️➡️
