Fair Play Rules

For a Harmonious Coexistence Between Humans and Nature

To bring humans and nature into harmony, we ask all winter enthusiasts to follow the following Fair Play rules:

  • Stay on marked trails and routes and avoid making noise to prevent disturbing wildlife. Animals are masters in energy conservation: they lower their heart rate, slow down their circulation, enter "energy-saving mode," rely on fat reserves, and need quiet areas where they can retreat.
  • Avoid tours in twilight and at night, as this is the feeding time for many animals.
  • Cross the forest edge only in a straight line and avoid snow-free areas, as these are the preferred spots of wildlife.
  • Respect wildlife resting areas and maintain distance from habitats and feeding zones. These areas help direct wildlife to specific regions during the winter, preventing damage from excessive browsing and bark stripping in the forest.
  • Protected forests that shield against avalanches, snow masses, mudslides, and other natural hazards should be preserved and not used.
  • Protect protective forests and young wildlife growth – they are particularly sensitive.
